Waterproof Camera Reviews | Compare Underwater Cameras Of All Types
Waterproof Cameras.
Waterproof cameras first came about on 1957 when Jacques-Yves Cousteau
designed the first underwater camera. This was called the Calypso Phot
camera. Many other underwater devices were invented prior to his
discovery. About 34 years later, Nikon released Nikonos, the best
selling camera for a long period of time. Nikonos performed twice as
better as its predecessor.
A water proof
camera is mainly used in underwater
photography. There are basically two ways to use a camera to take
pictures underwater. One is through the use of a specialized underwater
camera and the other is through housings and cases. Many brand
manufacturers have resolved the need to maximize the use of their
purchased digital cameras by creating these housings. The case is
attached to a compact and SLR digital cameras. This allows the camera
to last under water without any damage. High resolution and striking
pictures are made possible through the use of waterproof cameras.
